Free Stuff by Mail: Samples, Calendars and Travel Guides

Sources checked October 13–14, 2026. Requests and applications do not guarantee delivery; availability can change.
Free stuff by mail can be useful even when it is not a box of mystery products. Calendars, travel guides, material samples, and personal-care samples each solve a different problem. Choose something you will use, then check the item price, shipping terms, and information the organizer requests.
The options below have identifiable organizers and published request information. An advertised free item does not establish free postage unless the terms say so.
Mailed freebie options and their conditions
EWTN's 2027 calendar
Open the EWTN calendar request form. This is a Catholic calendar featuring religious imagery and feast-day information. The page offers one free calendar per U.S. household while supplies last and says mailing begins in October.
Status: request form available. The form requires contact and mailing details and consent to receive other EWTN communications. A separate postage charge is not stated. Request it if its religious content suits your household; it is not a general-purpose promotional calendar with interchangeable themes.
Tennessee's official vacation guide
Request the Tennessee vacation guide. Tennessee Tourism offers a free printed 2026 guide and publishes a four-to-six-week delivery estimate. A digital edition is linked on the same page.
Status: print request form available. Mailing details are required, and email-list signup is shown separately. A separate postage charge is not specified on the request page. If your departure is close, use the digital option rather than relying on an estimated mailing time.
Maru & Ming body wash sample
Read Maru & Ming's sample request instructions. The page offers a Cleopatra's Dream body wash sample to adults 18 or older in the 50 United States, excluding Puerto Rico, with a limit of one offer per person while supplies last.
Status: request form available; postage terms incomplete. The brand asks for the mailing address in the comment box. The product is advertised free, but separate shipping or processing costs are not explicitly addressed. Do not assume the site's ordinary paid-order shipping threshold applies to this sample.
If you prefer a mixed product box, PINCHme currently describes free shipment after four products qualify for your box. Qualifying and providing feedback are part of that model; registration alone does not create a shipment.
More mailed items with a clear purpose
- LEGO Magazine offers a free subscription, including delivery, for children ages 5–9 through a parent or guardian's LEGO account. Use the confirmation for the first delivery date; the public page contains conflicting issue dates. It is a magazine, not a shipment of LEGO bricks.
- FidoAlert supplies a free pet ID tag and alert service for U.S. pet owners, with postage covered. Set up the contact details carefully: the tag's value depends on someone being able to reach you.
- Edna Skincare's request page offers complimentary day and overnight cream samples by mail. Sample sizes, separate shipping terms, and arrival dates are not stated, so this is a request option rather than a promised delivery by a particular day.
Group requests by purpose in your tracking note: reading, pet identification, or product comparison. That makes a missing item easier to follow up on than an undifferentiated list of “free stuff.”
Decide what “free by mail” needs to mean for you
For a no-cost mailed offer, check both the item price and the delivery cost. Add processing charges, required purchases, and subscription obligations to the calculation. A product listed at $0 with paid shipping is not free to receive.
Then separate three stages: request submitted, request accepted, and item shipped. They should not be used interchangeably. Product-testing programs add another stage—selection—which is why registration alone is not a shipment promise.
Our guide to samples from companies explains testing programs. This page focuses on the broader task of evaluating and tracking mailed requests.
Two useful types of official request pages
TimberTech’s sample page offers up to four deck-board samples and states that samples and shipping are free. That is a material-selection tool for a home project, not a supply of construction boards. Choose samples to compare the options you are genuinely considering.
Travel Texas provides an official travel-guide request page and a digital alternative. Confirm the mailing choices and destination requirements on the form; we did not submit an order or verify delivery.
These examples show why the item’s purpose matters. A small board helps you choose a finish. A guide helps you plan a trip. Neither needs to be described as a valuable mystery box to be useful.
A request checklist you can reuse
Before entering your address, find answers to these questions:
- Is this the organizer’s website or a sampling partner the organizer identifies?
- Does the page describe the exact benefit, rather than just promise “free stuff”?
- Can you see a real request method and current conditions?
- Are your country, state, age, and household eligible?
- Is there a required payment, purchase, review, or marketing permission?
- What confirmation should you expect?
A footer date is not enough to establish that a promotion is current. A recently updated blog post can still link to a closed form.
For a form on another domain, look for a clear connection from the official brand page. A different domain is not automatically fraudulent, but a familiar logo alone does not establish authorization.
Keep a small request log
Use a note or spreadsheet with five fields: organizer, item, request date, confirmation, and expected next step. Add a sixth field for any task you accepted, such as a review.
This is useful even when no tracking number is provided. You will know whether an email refers to a request you actually made and whether the organizer promised delivery or only consideration.
Do not put your full mailing address in a publicly shared tracker. Store confirmations privately and delete records you no longer need.
What to do about fees and missing shipments
Read the original terms before paying anything connected to a sample. The FTC’s guidance on free trials explains how shipping charges and recurring billing can make a supposedly free trial costly.
For an expected shipment, contact the organizer through a known official channel. A separate text asking for payment does not become trustworthy just because you recently requested a sample.
If you discover that an old listing no longer works, stop there and report the outdated offer. Do not assume that another site’s form is a replacement.
Questions about mailed freebies
Are mailed freebies guaranteed?
Not as a category. Inventory limits, eligibility, selection, and shipping conditions vary by organizer.
Should I request every offer I see?
No. Pick items you would use and obligations you can complete. Free items still require time and space.
Can a digital resource be called “by mail”?
No. A downloadable file should be labeled digital, even if a related printed version exists.
