What day is Veterans Day in 2026?
Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11, 2026, a federal holiday on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management schedule. Some older roundups still say Tuesday, which was the weekday in 2025. Most free meals run on November 11 only. Bar Louie stretches its burger offer across November 10 and 11.
Which free meals are confirmed for November 11, 2026?
Three chains had 2026 terms on their own pages in mid-October: Chili’s, Golden Corral and Bob Evans. MilitaryToolkit.com read those pages on October 3 and October 14, 2026. The other chains in the table come from 2026 lists by Military.com, US Veterans Magazine, WeSalute and Blue Star Families. Eligibility is veterans and active-duty military unless the table says otherwise.

Which chains usually run an offer but have not posted 2026 terms?
Applebee’s, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Buffalo Wild Wings, IHOP, Dunkin’ and Starbucks ran Veterans Day offers in past years. The pages checked for this post did not show 2026 terms for them. Treat them as likely, not promised.
Last cycle, Applebee’s gave a free entree from a special dine-in menu plus a $5 Bounce Back Card for November 12 to 30. Buffalo Wild Wings gave 10 boneless wings with valid ID. Red Lobster gave a shrimp and chips entree. IHOP served its Red, White & Blue(berry) pancake combo from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., in-store only. Starbucks gave a free tall hot or iced coffee, and its description also covered military spouses [VERIFY 2026 terms for each].
What proof of service do you need?
Bring proof of service to every offer. Blue Star Families tells readers to carry it and to call the location first, because participation varies by restaurant. IHOP’s terms accept a valid military or veteran ID card or a DD-214. Other chains name their own documents, so read the chain’s page before you drive.
Franchise-heavy brands are the usual trouble. Blue Star Families notes that Chick-fil-A franchisees set their own Veterans Day offers, and that some Blaze Pizza franchises may sit it out.
What are the catches?
Almost every offer is dine-in only, and each one has at least one limit. Chili’s leaves out drinks and tip. Golden Corral gives no rain checks. The Hooters terms disagree on whether a drink purchase is required, so ask before you order.
Some “free meals” are vouchers for later. In 2025, Texas Roadhouse handed out a voucher redeemable through May 30, 2026, according to Veteran.com. A social post that asks for a card number or a long survey in exchange for a “Veterans Day voucher” is not from the chain. Real offers sit on the company’s own site.
How can you use more than one offer in a day?
The offers come from separate companies, so you can use more than one. Hy-Vee’s breakfast runs 6 to 10 a.m. Wienerschnitzel’s meal is available all day. Golden Corral opens its offer at 4 p.m. That makes a full day of free food if all three are near you.
If the nearest Golden Corral is an hour away, skip it. One buffet is not worth two hours of driving.
Check each chain’s own page again in early November. Blue Star Families says most chains post final details between late October and early November, and terms can change. If you find an offer that has changed or ended, send it through Report an Expired Offer.
