Free Birthday Gifts: Beauty, Coffee and Restaurant Rewards

Free Gifts

Sources checked October 13–14, 2026. Requests and applications do not guarantee delivery; availability can change.

Some free birthday gifts can be collected in a store without buying anything, even when the same retailer requires a purchase online. Sephora and Ulta are useful examples. Start with your membership eligibility and redemption method, then check local stock before making a trip.

Compare the birthday gift routes

Program Store route Online route Main preparation
Sephora Beauty Insider No purchase required for eligible store redemption. At sephora.com, a $25 merchandise purchase is required. Use your birthday benefit and check available gifts.
Ulta Beauty Rewards Redeem with the valid birthday coupon; no purchase is required under the program terms. A purchase above $0 with an eligible non-Marketplace item is required; shipping rules apply. Record your birthday and meet marketing opt-in requirements before the month begins.

Sephora: choose the collection method first

See Sephora's birthday gift choices. The official 2026 announcement confirms the no-purchase store route and the $25 minimum at sephora.com. Sephora at Kohl's and kohls.com have separate redemption details.

Status: birthday program verified; eligibility and stock apply. A pictured set may be unavailable in your store. Ask about the selection during your birthday month and choose something you will actually use.

Ulta: prepare the account before your birthday month

Read Ulta's birthday gift instructions. The page requires your birthday in your profile and marketing opt-in before the birthday month. Store redemption uses the coupon in the app or birthday email. Online pickup orders require a purchase, so they are different from asking for the birthday gift at the register.

Review the Ulta Beauty Rewards terms for membership and redemption eligibility. Neither retailer promises a particular gift after it runs out.

A different kind of free gift: EWTN's calendar

EWTN's 2027 calendar request offers a Catholic calendar to U.S. households while supplies last, one per household. The form includes required communications consent, and separate postage is not stated. It can be useful to someone who wants that religious content; it is not a birthday reward or a general cash-equivalent gift.

Restaurant birthday rewards with purchase conditions

The CheesecakeRewards birthday benefit is a complimentary cheesecake slice with any purchase for eligible members in the United States, including Puerto Rico. It is separate from old enrollment promotions. Check the reward in your account before deciding when to visit.

Slim Chickens Rewards offers a birthday Jar Dessert with an adult meal purchase. The reward expires 14 days after it is received, depends on availability, and excludes locations such as campus restaurants and food trucks. The program's $5-off-$10 enrollment promotion is a discount, not a separate free meal.

For coffee drinkers, the Starbucks birthday reward terms require advance membership and a qualifying Star-earning purchase before your birthday each year. Redemption windows depend on membership level; our coffee guide explains those differences.

These offers can reduce the cost of an outing already on your calendar. Add the required meal or other purchase to the comparison before treating a dessert or drink as a saving.

Identify which kind of gift you found

There are four common situations worth keeping separate:

  • No-purchase promotional gift: the organizer distributes an item under stated eligibility and availability rules.
  • Member benefit: an account or loyalty membership is required, sometimes during a specific period.
  • Gift with purchase: you must buy qualifying merchandise or meet a spending threshold.
  • Prize drawing: you enter for a chance to receive a gift; entry does not guarantee it.

A paid membership adds another cost. A gift attached to that membership may be a useful perk, but it should not be treated as free to obtain for someone who would need to pay to join.

Calculate the value to you, not the advertised value

Ask whether you would have bought the qualifying item without the gift. If the answer is no, the promotion may be creating a new expense rather than reducing an existing one.

For a birthday benefit, include the trip you would need to make. For a gift with an order, include shipping and any extra spending used to reach a threshold. For a paid club, include the membership fee.

You do not need a precise resale value to make a good decision. A product you will not use has little practical value to you, regardless of the number in the advertisement.

Read the limits before sharing information

Look for the organizer, eligible locations, minimum age, household limit, redemption period, and stock conditions. Save the terms if you decide to participate. Do not assume a past offer will return with the same gift or rules.

If a gift form introduces unrelated purchases or partner subscriptions, review those separately. An optional advertisement should not be mistaken for a step required to obtain the gift unless the organizer clearly says it is required—and then the cost belongs in the description.

If the benefit is actually a drawing, look for the official rules and avoid language that makes the result sound certain. Our sweepstakes guide focuses on that distinction.

Know when to leave an offer

Stop when you cannot identify what you will receive, when costs appear only after you provide details, or when the terms do not explain the requirement you are being asked to accept. An offer can be unsuitable without you needing to prove that it is a scam.

For unexpected prize messages, the FTC’s prize-scam guidance explains why requests for money to claim a prize are a warning sign. Contact a known organizer through its official site if you need clarification.

Gift offer questions

Does free membership guarantee a gift?

No. Eligibility, timing, stock, and redemption conditions can still apply.

Are gifts with purchase worth accepting?

They can be when you already need the qualifying purchase. They should not be described as no-purchase freebies.

Is a giveaway a guaranteed gift?

Read the mechanism. A prize drawing gives you a chance to win, while a first-come promotional gift has different limits.
